Basic Gameplay - Your First Steps, Overlord!

Welcome to the game, new Overlord! Here, we'll explain the basic gameplay for you to reign as the ruler of the "Evil Tower" and build the strongest tower. Take your time and learn step by step!

Game Objective: Build the Mightiest Evil Tower!

Your mission, Overlord, is to manage the "Evil Tower" and collect as many "Coins" as possible. You can place various unique monsters in your tower. They will diligently generate Coins for you.

There are many ways to use the Coins you collect:

• Unlock New Floors: Extend your tower upwards and place new monsters. More powerful monsters will earn you more Coins!
• Level Up Monsters: Strengthen the monsters on each floor to increase their Coin generation efficiency.
• Purchase Items in the Shop: You can buy useful items to aid your tower management or special enhancements.

Repeat these actions to increase Coin production, making your tower taller and stronger. Aim for the ultimate "Evil Tower" that reaches the heavens and instills fear in all!

Main Controls

• Tap the Floor!: Tapping a floor makes the monsters on that floor work and earn Coins. It's tedious work, but it's the foundation of your job as Overlord!
• Open the Shop: You can open the shop from the "Shop" button, usually found at the bottom of the screen. In the shop, you can purchase floor automation and various enhancement items.

The Source of Your Power: About Main Currencies

• Coins:

  The most basic currency in the Evil Tower. Generated by monsters working on the floors. You can also earn them by tapping floors directly. They are used for a wide range of things, such as unlocking new floors, leveling up monsters, and purchasing various items in the shop. The top of the screen shows how many Coins you currently have. Always check and use them wisely!

  When dealing with large amounts of Coins in the game, units such as Billion and Trillion are used. As a guide, 1 Billion represents 1,000,000,000 (one thousand million), and 1 Trillion represents 1,000,000,000,000 (one million million). Subsequent units also increase by a factor of 1,000: Quadrillion (10^15), Quintillion (10^18), Sextillion (10^21), Septillion (10^24), Octillion (10^27), Nonillion (10^30), and Decillion (10^33).
• Soul Points:

  This is a special currency, a bit different from Coins. Primarily obtained through a special action called "Reincarnation," which becomes available after progressing to a certain point in the game. Soul Points are used to purchase powerful and permanent upgrades that cannot be bought with Coins (e.g., permanently increasing the income of all monsters). We'll explain Soul Points in detail later in the "Reincarnation and Soul Shop" section, so look forward to it!

Floors and Monsters: Strengthen Your Tower's Core!

Your tower grows taller by stacking "Floors." Each floor houses reliable (?) "Monsters" who stand by to generate Coins for you. Let's take a closer look at the roles of floors and monsters, and how to strengthen them!

What are Floors? Expand Your Dominion!

"Floors" are the individual levels that make up your tower. Each floor serves as a home for unique monsters and an important base for them to generate Coins.

• The Appeal of New Floors:
  • Encounter New Monsters: Unlocking a new floor introduces new types of monsters you haven't seen before. They vary in appearance and abilities, adding to the fun of collecting them!
  • Chance for a Big Income Boost: Generally, monsters on higher floors have a higher initial Coin production capacity. Unlocking a new floor is a great chance to dramatically increase your Coin income!
• How to Unlock:

  You need a certain amount of Coins to unlock a new floor. As you scroll up the screen, you'll see un-unlocked upper floors. There will be an "Unlock" button and the required number of Coins. Tap it when you have enough Coins! The higher you go, the more Coins you'll need to unlock floors, but it's well worth the cost.

  The first floor (1F) is unlocked from the start of the game.

Monsters: Your Loyal (?) Coin Production Squad!

Each floor has monsters awaiting your command. They work hard to generate Coins when tapped or when the floor is automated.

• Unique Monsters: Skeletons, Goblins, Golems... As you ascend the tower, various types of monsters will appear. Each monster has a different appearance and initial earning power. Finding your favorite monster can be one of the joys of this game!
• Power Up by Leveling Up!:

  You can "Level Up" monsters by spending Coins. When a monster's level increases, the amount of Coins that floor generates significantly increases! The amount of Coins needed to level up varies depending on the current level and monster type, but the more you invest, the more Coins your monsters (floors) will reward you with. Actively level them up to continuously increase your Coin production efficiency!

  When a monster reaches a certain level, its appearance might change, or something special might happen...? That's for you to discover as you raise them!

"Automation" is the Shortcut to Becoming a Great Overlord!

"Automation" is an extremely important element in managing the Evil Tower. When you purchase an "Automation" upgrade for a specific floor in the shop, the monsters on that floor will automatically collect Coins without you needing to tap.

• Coins Galore, Even While You Sleep: Automated floors continue to produce Coins tirelessly even when you're not playing the game (offline). When you next launch the game, a wealth of offline earnings will be waiting for you!
• Permanent Effect After One Purchase: Once purchased, automation upgrades last forever. Automating key floors early on to secure a stable source of Coin income is key to efficiently developing your tower.

Reincarnation and Soul Shop: Aim for Greater Heights!

Once you've made some progress in managing your Evil Tower, a new path called "Reincarnation" will open up. Reincarnation is a crucial step to further power yourself up, using your past efforts as fuel. Here, we'll explain in detail the mechanics of Reincarnation and the permanent upgrades you can purchase with the "Soul Points" earned through it.

What is Reincarnation? Be Reborn with New Power, Overlord!

"Reincarnation" is a system where you reset the levels of your monsters, your floor unlock status, and your possessed Coins, essentially starting the game over from (almost) the beginning. You might be surprised, "What? I have to reset everything I've worked for?" But don't worry! Reincarnation has tremendous merits that more than make up for the reset. It's like a "New Game Plus," allowing you to manage your tower more efficiently and aim for even higher floors than before.

The Amazing Merits of Reincarnation: Stronger, More Efficient!

By reincarnating, you can gain two major benefits. Understanding these is key to conquering the Evil Tower!

• 1. Income Bonus (Permanent Coin Gain Increase!):

  Each time you reincarnate, the "Income Bonus" value, which is permanently multiplied with your overall game Coin income, is recalculated and strengthened based on your achievements in the previous run. The higher this bonus, the more Coins you'll earn with the same monsters at the same levels after reincarnating, dramatically increasing your game progression speed! For example, if your Income Bonus doubles, the income from all your floors will constantly be twice as much.

  This crucial "Income Bonus" is primarily determined by the following four factors:

  • Reincarnation Count Bonus: The number of times you've reincarnated directly adds to the bonus. The more you reincarnate, the steadily your tower's basic earnings will increase.
  • Highest Floor Reached Bonus: The higher the floor you reached at the time of Reincarnation, the larger the bonus you'll receive. (However, this bonus has an upper limit.)
  • Total Monster Level Bonus: The higher the total level of all monsters in your tower at the time of Reincarnation, the more bonus will be added. (This also has an upper limit.)
  • Possessed Coins Bonus: The more Coins you possess at the moment of Reincarnation, the more will be converted into a bonus. (However, this bonus also has an upper limit, and its growth is gentler compared to other factors.)

  The bonuses calculated from these four factors are summed up to become your new "Income Bonus" after Reincarnation. This bonus has a permanent effect and will strongly support your tower management.

• 2. Acquire Soul Points (Fundamentally Strengthen Yourself at the Soul Shop!):

  When you reincarnate, you will acquire a very precious special currency called "Soul Points". These Soul Points are used in a special place called the "Soul Shop" to purchase extremely powerful upgrades that permanently enhance your own abilities or the basic capabilities of your tower.

  The amount of Soul Points you can acquire is primarily calculated based on the following three factors:

  • Highest Floor Reached: The higher the floor you reached, the overwhelmingly, exponentially more Soul Points you will acquire. This is the single most important factor!
  • Total Monster Level: The higher the total level of all monsters, the more Soul Points you will get.
  • Possessed Coins: More Coins mean more Soul Points, but this effect grows logarithmically and diminishes after a certain point.

  All enhancements obtained with Soul Points are permanent. By repeatedly reincarnating and stacking upgrades at the Soul Shop, you will become increasingly powerful!

Notes on Reincarnation: What Stays, What Goes?

Reincarnation brings powerful benefits, but remember that some data will be reset. However, the "soul of your strength" as an Overlord will not be lost!

• What Carries Over (Not Lost!):
  • Your Reincarnation count so far
  • The "Income Bonus" accumulated through Reincarnations
  • All "Soul Points" you've acquired
  • The effects of all permanent upgrades purchased from the "Soul Shop"
  • "Achievement" completion status and their permanent bonus effects
  • Items purchased in the "Rest Area" and their permanent effects
  • Status and permanent effects of other special purchased items
• What Resets (A Fresh Start!):
  • Unlock status of all floors (you'll have to unlock them again from the first floor)
  • Levels of all monsters (they all restart from level 1)
  • Possessed Coins (they become 0 after being used for calculations)
  • Temporary upgrades and automation status (these need to be repurchased)

Soul Shop: Permanently Enhance Yourself with Soul Points!

The Soul Shop is a special place where you can use your collected Soul Points to purchase various upgrades that permanently and dramatically improve your tower management capabilities and monster strength. Your choices here will greatly influence your future as an Overlord!

• Examples of Permanent Upgrades:
  • Overall Production Multiplier Up: Permanently increases the base amount of Coins generated by all monsters.
  • Increase Initial Floor Count After Reincarnation: Increases the number of floors already unlocked after Reincarnation.
  • Strengthen Specific Monster Types: Pinpoint strengthens specific types of monsters.
  • Offline Income Bonus Up: Adds a further bonus to Coins earned while offline.
  • Various Cost Reductions: Permanently reduces Coins needed to level up monsters or automate floors.
  • Shop Discount Rate Up: Permanently discounts prices in the regular Coin shop.
  • Expand Item Inventory: Increases maximum item capacity.
• Upgrade Levels and Costs: Many upgrades have "levels," and you can enhance their effects by spending Soul Points to level them up. However, costs increase as levels rise.
• Wise Choices Make a Strong Overlord!: Which upgrades to prioritize is up to your strategy. Use your Soul Points wisely according to your playstyle and goals!

When is the Best Time to Reincarnate?

"When is the best time to reincarnate?" is an eternal question. There's no one-size-fits-all answer, but here are good signs to consider:

• When You Feel Growth Stagnation: If your game progression has clearly slowed down and you feel stuck, it might be a good time to reincarnate.
• When Soul Points Become Attractive: When the Soul Points you can gain outweigh the value of continuing your current run.
• After Achieving a Specific Goal: After reaching a short-term milestone, it can be a good time for a fresh start.

By repeating Reincarnation, you'll reach heights you couldn't before, faster and more easily. Don't be afraid to embrace this new power and forge your path to becoming the strongest Overlord!
